One, Then Two

Allow me my love to set the table,
One place for me and one for you.
Set flaming match to waiting candle,
With your favorite plates, one then two.

I pray you don't mind
That I hum the tune,
Of the song I once sang you,
Beneath the full moon.

Love can be shown in many ways,
By word, deed, craft, or look.
With heart-felt love I give to you,
Poetry, wine, and the food I cook.

Forgive my tears,
They're of love and of loss.
Come home to me safely,
As the veil you cross.

Once more let us sit,
In this sacred rite.
To share our love,
On Samhain night.
