Never Forget

I am kneeling
And peeling
My clothes
The forest floor
And the wind
It is blowing
As I step
Through
That
Door

Like a rushing of wind
Or an endless waterfall
I am lifted up high
And suddenly fall
The plants
The grass
Crush under my paw
And I run
With abandon
Under
My
Own
Law

The trees
Are blurring
As I pulse with speed
And deep
Within me
I am driven
With
Need

There is warmth
And lust
And the need to feed
Muscle
And bone
Churn over
Earth
And
Stone

I crash
Through the forest
Like a stone through a wave
The moment
The thought
Neither afraid
Nor
Brave

I feast
On flesh
Still warm on the bone
The grass
Beneath me
Is my
New
Home

My muscles
Stretch
In the relentless heat
My heart
It beats
And sings me to sleep

I dream
Of the hunt
And a nuzzling mate
I dream
Of my death
My inevitable fate

I sink
Below
And into the Earth
Two hands
Two feet
My human rebirth

I am naked
And bare
Covered in sweat
The beast
Is within
And will never forget

My hands
Dig
Deep into the soil
I return
Again
To the City
To
Toil
